Shopify’s latest update allows merchants to automatically include sub-categories in smart collections, eliminating the need for multiple conditions. Therefore, choosing a parent category will include all sub-categories. This eliminates the need to manually add each subcategory, saving time and effort. It further ensures products in subcategories are included, enhancing product discoverability and making managing large catalogs easier!
5. Shopify Forms Now Automatically Syncs With Merchant Metafields for Seamless Data Management
This Shopify update allows Shopify Forms to seamlessly sync with customer data fields (metafields) that store owners have created. Forms can now write directly to merchant-defined metafields. Merchants can gather specific customer data through forms and store it in their preferred format. Moreover, any updates to the metafield options are automatically reflected in associated form fields. This enhancement ensures that customer data remains accurate and consistent across your store.

1. Youtube Launches Premium Lite
Youtube recently announced its newest subscription tier – Premium Lite. This is a more affordable subscription plan priced at $7.99 per month (in the US). This plan offers ad-free viewing for most videos, including categories like gaming, fashion, beauty, and news. However, it excludes features like YouTube Music Premium, offline downloads, or background playback. This initiative is for users who primarily want to watch videos without interruptions, without requiring additional features of Youtube Premium.
2. Meta Expands AI Bot Profiles across its Apps

Meta is rolling out AI-powered assistants across Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, and Messenger. They are designed to interact with users like real people – they are capable of posting, commenting, and engaging in conversations. Meta believes this enhances user interaction and engagement on the platforms. Meta is also expanding its “AI Studio” functionality, allowing users to interact with and create their custom AI characters. Besides, it is integrated across Meta’s various apps, creating a unified AI experience.
3. Instagram is Testing AI-Generated Comments to Boost Engagement

Instagram is now experimenting with AI-generated comment suggestions to increase customer engagement and make interactions easier. A “Write with Meta AI” option provides three comment ideas based on the post, with the ability to refresh for more. The goal is to encourage engagement, but it does raise the question about the authenticity of the interactions and genuinity of the conversations. The feature is still in testing, and the rollout date has not been announced.
4. LinkedIn Report Suggests Growing AI Trends Among B2B Sellers
LinkedIn recently released a report highlighting the growing use of AI among B2B sellers. The study revealed that a significant number of sales personnel used AI to enhance their workflow efficiency. The study also suggested that AI found its application in automating routine tasks, gaining deeper customer insights, and enhancing customer engagement. The report also talked about the impact AI had on sales processes and encouraged sellers and merchants to adopt AI trends to stay ahead of the competition.
