Implementing Magento 2 Multistore can help you achieve your e-commerce store experience and business goals. Here’s a case study of how we enabled our client Danube Home to succeed through Magento 2 and PWA.

Along with a wide selection of products and a seamless shopping experience, there’s one thing required from an e-commerce store in 2026, native customization. Here’s how we helped Danube Home to set up a Magento 2 Multi-Store and optimize commerce performance across different e-commerce stores.

Why Choose Magento 2 Multistore Setup for Multi-country eCommerce?

Danube Home is one of the largest furniture retailers in the Middle East, present in 6 countries with over 20 large format stores and e-commerce. They have a presence in the Middle East, present in 6 countries with over 20 large format stores and e-commerce. Codilar’s solution architecture team was tasked with coming-up with an optimal solution to meet the client requirements.

Here are the reasons why Magento 2 multistore configuration was selected as the best option to set up and manage a multi-country multi-currency e-commerce store.

-Grouping Curated Products

-Multi-Country Setup through multi-Store

-Multi-Currency Checkout

-Multi-Store Inventory

1. Grouping Curated Products

Danube Home being a furniture and home decor retailer has curated product groups such as living room sets, dining room sets, office room setups, etc. Through Magento 2 setup, we can support the clubbing of individual items to appear as a group with its own separate pricing, availability, offers, etc.

For example, the product below is an sofa set but the sofas, chairs, cushions, table also exist as individual items with their respective SKUs.

2.Multi-Country Setup through multi-Store

As the Danube has a presence across the Middle East and Asian countries, we had to go with a multi-store configuration to support features like multi-store inventory and multi-store currency. This way the user experience could be tuned to the respective demographics and the store could be managed to cater to a country-specific demand and regional market behavior along with its consumer patterns.

Through installed extensions and custom development, each area was able to achieve the optimal Magento store view. This was developed based on different customer groups depending on their geographical area.

3.Multi Currency Checkout

Danube Home has a presence in UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and India. Due to Danube’s cross-geographical presence, the solution developed needed to include various payment options and currencies used for each of the countries. For example, India primarily uses RazorPay as the payment gateway and rupees for currency whereas UAE usually uses Telr for its payment gateway and Dirham as currency.

Through the capabilities of Magento 2 Multistore, Codilar were also able to support the different payment gateways and multi-currency requirements of the business.

4.Multi Store Inventory

On the face of it, it may appear as a simple URL change to end users. But the complexity and ground reality of running a retail business across multiple locations needs a lot of work to be done on the backend.

Here, we needed to go with step-by-step customizations on Magento 2 platform to manage warehouses, Manage inventory across countries, omnichannel, distribution, and in-store pickup options for the respective regions. In this way, the customer was able to manage all information through a unified database with magento 2.

Codilar also used Google API integration for a seamless and smooth checkout option as this customized feature allowed users to enter their basic detail such as their apartment name and locality and the rest of the details such as delivery time, estimated date of delivery, nearest pickup, etc would be fetched depending on the location entered by the customer.

5. Magento 2 PWA for Multi Store/ Multi Brand

As Danube was on Adobe Enterprise Cloud, there was room to improve the mobile browsing experience through progressive web applications. Codilar has our in-house ready-to-deploy Magento PWA product called NexPWA.

By deploying NexPWA, mobile browsing experience was improved and quick no matter which location the user was using it from. It also helped Danube with having a tailor-made experience for its different locations.

Benefits of a Multi Store Configuration in magento 2.4

Here are the benefits of choosing Magento 2.4 for your e-commerce Multi-Store Case setup.

Cost-Effective

With Magento 2 multi-store functionality, you can manage multiple websites from a single instance, reducing the cost of running multiple e-commerce sites. You do not need to purchase a separate license for each site, which can save you a significant amount of money.

Improved Efficiency

Multi-store on Magento 2 streamlines the management of multiple online stores by allowing merchants to manage all their sites from a single admin panel. This means that you can easily manage inventory, pricing, and other essential details without having to switch between different accounts. This can significantly improve efficiency and save time.

Better Customer Experience

Multi-store on Magento 2 allows you to offer different product catalogs, pricing, and promotions for each website. This means that you can tailor the shopping experience for each store to the specific needs and preferences of your target audience, providing a better overall customer experience.Additionally, you may give your customers even more ease by integrating Quick Commerce (Q-commerce) features into your multi-store system.

Scale faster across geographies, or customer segments

With a multi-store on Magento 2, you can scale faster by creating new websites for new product lines, geographies, or customer segments. This can help you reach new audiences and increase sales opportunities.

Each new market usually brings its own pricing, tax handling, shipping options, and payment preferences, and a dedicated storefront can handle all of it without disturbing your existing stores.

Getting that structure right from the start is where Codilar’s Magento development experts can help, so each new store feels local from day one.

Simplified Management

Managing multiple stores can be a challenging task, but with Magento 2, it’s easy to manage all of your stores from a single admin panel. This means that you can keep track of all your sales, inventory, and customer information in one place. This simplifies the management process and saves time, enabling you to focus on other aspects of your business.

Targeted Marketing campaigns

Magento ecommerce can create a unique shopping experience for each store by personalizing the layout, product selection, and pricing. This enables you to reach distinct customer demographics and have more returning customers to your store. In turn, this makes it easier to gain more loyal customers.

Streamline and enhance your marketing activities

Setting up a multi-store on Magento 2 can save you money. You only need to pay for a single Magento 2 license, and you can host multiple stores on a single server. This means that you can save on hosting and maintenance costs. Additionally, you can save on marketing costs by sharing marketing resources across your stores, such as social media profiles, email lists, and advertising campaigns.

Tailor your SEO Strategy

With a multi-store setup, you can optimize each store’s SEO by tailoring your titles and content element to each store’s location and audience. This will improve your search engine rankings, making it easier for potential customers to find your store. Additionally, you can use different domain names for each store(such as country-level domain name or CCTLD), which will increase your brand visibility and improve your SEO.

Easily customizable on a short notice

Ecommerce site owners often desire the ability to quickly modify their themes for promotional activities, holidays, and other special events. Magento 2 offers a great level of customization, giving you the chance to tailor each store to meet your particular needs. It’s possible to customize the store’s theme, design, and features to generate a unique shopping experience for customers.

Conclusion

Setting up a Magento 2 multistore across countries, currencies, and languages takes careful planning, but the payoff is clear. As the Danube Home project showed, a single Magento instance can handle country-specific catalogs, multi-currency checkout, regional payment gateways, and store-level inventory, all managed from one admin panel. Customers get to shop in their own language and currency, while your team saves on licensing, hosting, and day-to-day management. Pairing the setup with a PWA frontend adds faster mobile performance, which helps conversions in every market you serve.
